The Music of the Text: Reading Voices in French Modernist Literatures
Simon Leser is a Ph.D. candidate in the French department, where he works primarily on late nineteenth and early twentieth century literature, with a focus on questions of sound and musicality, reading, and translation. He has also translated two novels from French, both written by Joseph Andras and published by Verso, Tomorrow They Won’t Dare to Murder Us (2021) and Faraway the Southern Sky (2024).
