Reclaiming Eros: Women’s Emotional Agency in Early Modern Italy
Ida Caiazza is Assistant Professor of Italian Studies at New York University. She is the author of “Narrare per lettera. Racconto ed epistola amorosa nel Rinascimento” (2024), and is writing a second book, “Reclaiming Eros: Love Letters and Women’s Emotional Agency in Renaissance Italy”. She also contributes to the Edizione Nazionale delle Opere di Ludovico Ariosto, writing the commentary to “La Lena”. Her research spans Renaissance theater, epistolary culture, gender studies, and history of emotions.
