The Common Core of Aesthetic Contemplation and Compassion, a Partly Historical Investigation with Special Reference to Schopenhauer

Anja Jauernig is a Professor of Philosophy in the philosophy department at New York University. Her areas of interest include Kant, early modern philosophy (especially Leibniz), 19th and early 20th century German philosophy, aesthetics, animal ethics, and history of philosophy of science. Before coming to NYU in 2002, Jauernig taught at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Notre Dame. She is also North American Co-Editor of Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie and Co-Director of SWIP-NYC (the local chapter of the Society for Women in Philosophy). Read more
