Jane Austen & the End of Life

Wendy Anne Lee studies and teaches Enlightenment literature and philosophy. Her work examines the history of the novel and theories of emotional life. Her first book, Failures of Feeling: Insensibility and the Novel (Stanford, 2019) tells an origin story of the Bartleby problem. Her current project, Jane Austen and the End of Life, draws from her experiences as a palliative care doula and Janeite. She is a cofounder of Consent Lab, an arts collaboration devoted to social experimentation.
