Whit Pow (they/them) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. Pow’s research focuses on queer and transgender (or trans) histories of video games, glitches, software, and computational media.
Their current book project, People Orientations: Toward a Transgender Video Game and Software History, locates trans video game designers and programmers in histories of early software and hardware development, looking at the intersection of queer and trans medical history, surveillance, and policy with computer and video game history.
