The Center has long supported the public humanities at NYU. We work with community and academic partners to leverage the humanities for the benefit of civil society and to give voice to diverse populations.
The Center belongs to a statewide consortium of universities organized by Humanities New York (HNY), which promotes and supports the public humanities. Each year two doctoral students who receive funding and training from HNY join the cohort of faculty and doctoral students in our Fellowship program. We have also supported doctoral students by securing HNY Community Partnership Grants.
